Imran Khan’s Jail Message: Freedom or Slavery
Imran Khan’s Defiant Message from Jail
In a strong and emotional message from Adiyala Jail on November 4, 2025, Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched a fierce attack on the current establishment, particularly Army Chief Asim Munir, accusing him of being “the most tyrannical dictator in Pakistan’s history.” Imran Khan declared that the country is no longer under the rule of law and constitution, but rather under “Asim Law” — a term symbolising unchecked military power and political oppression.
His message, delivered through his sister after a jail meeting, underlines his unwavering stance: “We prefer death over accepting slavery.”
Rule of Law Replaced by ‘Asim Law’
Imran Khan expressed his deep concern that Asim Munir’s thirst for power has completely dismantled Pakistan’s constitutional order, ushering in an era of lawlessness, fear, and suppression. He emphasised that this situation has buried basic rights and moral values.
“Right now in the country, it is not the rule of the constitution and law, but the rule of Asim Law,” said Imran Khan.
According to him, no institution operates independently, and every decision comes from a single command centre — Asim Munir’s office. Khan described this as the funeral of morality, where justice and humanity have ceased to exist.
Unprecedented Oppression Under Asim Munir
The PTI chairman painted a grim picture of Pakistan under General Asim Munir’s rule, calling it the darkest period in national history. He recalled several incidents, including May 9, November 26, and the crackdowns in Azad Kashmir and Murree, where authorities shot unarmed civilians and brutally silenced protesters.
Khan said,
“The way bullets were rained down on unarmed civilians is something that couldn’t even be imagined in any civilised society.”
He accused the establishment of systematic human rights violations, media censorship, and targeted arrests to dismantle the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Women’s Suffering and Injustice
A major focus of Imran Khan’s message was the treatment of women during this political crackdown. He condemned the imprisonment of Dr Yasmin Rashid, an elderly cancer survivor, calling it “a disgrace to humanity.”
Similarly, Bushra Bibi, Imran Khan’s wife, remains in solitary confinement, allegedly as part of a campaign to mentally torture and pressure Khan.
“What kind of law is this that those who left PTI are given general amnesty, while those who stand with me face every kind of oppression?”
This statement highlights the selective justice that has become a hallmark of the current regime.
Freedom Over Slavery: Imran Khan’s Resolve
Despite facing imprisonment, legal battles, and personal suffering, Imran Khan’s message is one of defiance and resilience. He vowed that neither he nor his supporters would bow down to oppression or pledge allegiance to the “dictatorial regime.”
“We prefer death over accepting slavery.”
This declaration reinforces his ideology of “either death or freedom,” portraying himself as a symbol of resistance and courage against tyranny.
No Negotiations with Puppet Government
Imran Khan made it clear that PTI will not engage in talks with what he called the “Form 47 government” — a reference to alleged election manipulation.
He described the current administration as a puppet regime taking orders directly from Asim Munir, stating:
“There’s no benefit in negotiating with such a government whose prime minister himself operates under ‘I’ll ask and let you know.’”
According to Khan, all negotiations are futile because they only result in increased oppression and arrests. Instead, leaders of the Tehreek Tahafuz Aain Pakistan (TTAP), Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, now hold the decision-making authority.
Call to Action for PTI Leaders and Lawyers
Imran Khan urged PTI office-bearers, parliamentarians, ILF members, and lawyers to pursue justice through the courts actively. He alleged that the judiciary is intentionally delaying his and Bushra Bibi’s cases by refusing to assign hearing dates.
“Everyone knows there’s nothing to these cases. They will ultimately be dismissed, which is why they are being deliberately prolonged.”
He also reaffirmed his trust in senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja, who will oversee all party instructions and communications.
Conclusion: A Message of Resistance and Hope
Imran Khan’s latest message from Adiyala Jail reflects a deep conviction and unwavering defiance. His narrative of freedom, justice, and resistance continues to resonate with millions of Pakistanis who view him as a symbol of truth and accountability.
By denouncing Asim Munir’s alleged dictatorship and exposing systemic injustice, Khan seeks to inspire a national awakening rooted in courage and moral clarity.
In his own words,
“Those nations which adopt a fearless ideology like ‘either death or freedom’ cannot be stopped from achieving true freedom and progress.”
