Former Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke with journalists at Adiyala Jail, urging the establishment to realize the nation is heading towards destruction and chaos. He criticized the placement of corrupt individuals in power, stating it harms the country and its institutions. He condemned the misuse of NAB, police, and FIA, emphasizing that such actions damage the nation.
Imran Khan asserted that these efforts aim to extend the tenure of certain officials and secure a two-thirds majority, mentioning Qazi Faiz Isa’s recent judicial actions. He lamented that the country’s destruction is being prioritized over PTI’s suppression and highlighted the government’s disregard for constitutional court decisions, warning of the negative impact on investment and inflation.
Addressing social media, Khan described it as the people’s voice and accused the government of undermining democracy through election rigging. He expressed no fear over General Faiz’s arrest and reiterated his call for a judicial commission to investigate the matter.
On prison conditions, Khan noted the installation of cameras and mobile jammers, dismissing accusations against prison staff as a desperate witch hunt. He stated that he can communicate through lawyers, negating the need for mobile phones.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan revealed his intent to run for the Vice Chancellor position at Oxford University, asking Zulfi Bukhari to prepare the necessary documents. He also expressed readiness to meet opposition leaders and criticized restrictions on political discussions with PTI members.
He mentioned Bushra Bibi’s wrongful accusation in the May 9 cases, warning the establishment of leading the country to ruin. Khan called for a judicial inquiry into the events of May 9 and criticized the handling of the February 8 election, alleging their mandate was stolen and demanding an investigation.
Khan addressed allegations of a conspiracy involving Faiz Hameed, refuting claims and recounting previous conspiracies, including General Bajwa’s actions under Nawaz Sharif’s influence. He dismissed accusations by Nawaz Sharif about PTI ruining the economic system, pointing to the economic deficit left by the previous government and the need to seek IMF assistance.
He advised Atif and Junaid Khan to meet with the anti-corruption committee to address issues responsibly, urging them not to escalate the matter publicly. He concluded by highlighting the Chief Justice’s clear message in the 190 million pound reference, indicating judicial bias against PTI.
