Imran Khan’s Explosive Statement from Adiyala Jail: Allegations Against Asim Munir, PTI Crackdown, and National Crisis
Imran Khan Accuses Asim Munir of Establishing a Military Dictatorship
In a fiery message from Adiyala Jail, PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan alleged that Army Chief General Asim Munir has imposed the “worst dictatorship” in Pakistan’s history. Moreover, Khan claimed that the May 9 incident was orchestrated by Munir as a political insurance policy; consequently, he accused him of stealing CCTV footage and manipulating national events.
Khan further stated that the current regime is not a hybrid system but a full-fledged dictatorship, evidenced by international leaders allegedly bypassing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to communicate directly with Munir.
Family Members Targeted: Nephews Abducted, Bushra Bibi in Solitary Confinement
Imran Khan expressed deep concern over the alleged abduction of his nephews, Shariiz Khan and Sher Shah, who he says have no political affiliations. He described Shariiz as a promising athlete and condemned their detention as part of a broader campaign of intimidation.
He also revealed that his wife, Bushra Bibi, has been held in solitary confinement for eight months under inhumane conditions. According to Khan, she has suffered physical abuse, including electrocution and denial of basic hygiene, which he described as unprecedented in Pakistan’s history—even under past military rulers like Yahya Khan.
Judiciary Under Fire: “Conscienceless Judges” and the 26th Amendment
Khan criticised Pakistan’s judiciary; consequently, he accused it of complicity in human rights violations and political persecution. Furthermore, he claimed that the 26th constitutional amendment has rendered the judiciary “enslaved,” and as a result, judges have failed to uphold justice or Islamic values.
He urged PTI leadership, especially Ali Amin Gandapur, to seek Supreme Court permission for consultations and governance briefings, emphasising the need for judicial accountability and transparency.
Drone Strikes and Military Operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
Khan condemned ongoing military operations and drone strikes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and tribal areas, asserting that such actions escalate terrorism and lack public support. He called for peaceful dialogue with local representatives and warned that the deteriorating security situation is a deliberate attempt to weaken PTI’s mandate.
Environmental Crisis and the Billion Tree Project
Highlighting the recent devastation caused by floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, Khan reiterated the importance of environmental initiatives like the Billion Tree project. He warned that without sustainable climate action, Pakistan will continue to suffer annual destruction.
PTI Strategy: Rejecting By-Elections and Planning Mass Mobilisation
Khan urged PTI to reconsider participation in by-elections for seats vacated due to what he called “fabricated charges” related to the May 9 cases. He emphasised that contesting these elections would legitimise false convictions.
He announced plans for a grand public meeting in Peshawar to rally support against what he described as fascist oppression. The party will also contest the vacant seat in Hammad Azhar’s constituency following the death of Mian Azhar.
Final Call: Resistance Against Tyranny and Unity for True Freedom
Imran Khan concluded his statement with a powerful call to action: “You may imprison whomever you want from my family; I will neither bow down nor accept this oppression. I will continue my struggle for true freedom in all circumstances.”
He urged PTI supporters and the Pakistani public to unite against dictatorship, judicial corruption, and media silence, promising that collective resistance would lead to victory.
