Smooth Transition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
I congratulate all provincial assembly members on a smooth transition in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Members stood firm on principle. They voted for my nominated chief minister without hesitation. This shows the strength of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the province. I also honour Ali Amin Gandapur for resigning three times without delay. This demonstrates political resolve and discipline.
Leadership and Team Message
I send a special message to Sohail Afridi. He is my opening batsman. He should play boldly and seize the moment. Strong leadership needs bold action. The party will back its leaders who act decisively.
On Political Labels and Dissent
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is the country’s largest political party. Calling party affiliates traitors for policy disagreement is dangerous. Handing out certificates of treason undermines democratic debate. Those who brand critics as anti-state must stop. Healthy politics requires space for dissent.
Accountability and Public Mandate
As an elected politician, I will criticise any policy that harms public interest, national unity, or democratic norms. The people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gave us the mandate. We are accountable to them, not the DG ISPR. We will never act against the interests of the nation or the province. Public service must always follow the public will.
Position on the Military and Security
I have no hostility toward the armed forces. The army, the country, and the people are all ours. Many in my family serve in the military. I mourn the loss of soldiers in the fight against terrorism. Continued insecurity pains us all. History shows that military operations alone do not end terrorism. Large operations over decades have not removed this threat.
Call for a Political and Inclusive Strategy
Military action causes collateral damage and displacement. Civilian casualties undermine long-term peace. Ending terrorism needs a comprehensive, politically informed strategy. Decisions made without consultation with political representatives are unacceptable. Key stakeholders must be included. Local tribes, the provincial government, the federal government, and Afghan authorities must be part of the process. Dialogue with Afghanistan is essential.
Directive to the New Provincial Government
I urge the new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to consult all parties. Form an inclusive and effective counterterrorism strategy. Aim for lasting peace and economic recovery. A broad-based approach will protect civilians and restore normalcy.
Right to Protest and Condemnation of Violence
Every democratic society protects the right to protest. It is unacceptable to use force against unarmed civilians. I condemn violence against peaceful demonstrators. The injustices against Tehreek-e-Labbaik and the sustained pressures on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf are unacceptable. The D-Chowk incident on November 26 is a grave example where peaceful workers were fired upon by snipers. I strongly condemn the brutal attack in Mandi Bahauddin and the shooting of unarmed people.
Closing Statement
We remain committed to democratic principles, public accountability, and peace. We will defend the public interest. We will pursue policies that protect national unity and the rights of citizens. We stand for dialogue, justice, and a sustainable peace.
