FORMER greats Inzamam-ul-Haq, Misbah-ul-Haq, Mushtaq Mohammad, and Saeed Anwar have thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board for inducting them into the PCB Hall of Fame. The Hall now has 14 cricketers since its inception in April 2021.

Inzamam-ul-Haq

As Pakistan’s leading run-scorer in ODI cricket (11,701) and third in Test runs (8,829), Inzamam-ul-Haq expressed his deep honour at this recognition. He highlighted the role of fellow cricketers, dedicated support staff, and his family in his journey. Representing Pakistan during an era with such high-calibre players was a privilege.

Misbah-ul-Haq

Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who led the team to its first Test series victory in the West Indies, shared his profound gratitude. Captaining the team was a profound honour; this recognition by the PCB serves as the perfect crowning achievement of his journey. Misbah acknowledged the unwavering support of fans and the sacrifices of his family.

Mushtaq Mohammad

Recognised 45 years after his last match, Mushtaq Mohammad joined the Hall alongside his legendary brother Hanif. He reflected on Pakistan cricket’s formative years and the cherished matches played on challenging pitches. He felt privileged to have played alongside outstanding cricketers who upheld the true spirit of the game.

Saeed Anwar

Saeed Anwar, famous for his record-breaking 194 against India in Chennai, expressed his pride and humility. It’s humbling to join the ranks of his childhood heroes and teammates. He cherished his moments with Pakistan’s finest cricketers and the immense joy brought to fans. Despite facing challenges, every match for Pakistan holds a special place in his heart.

Independent Panel and Other Members

The independent panel included cricket legends like Wasim Akram and Zaheer Abbas, alongside former captains, cricketers, and analysts. The PCB inducts two former cricketers into the Hall of Fame each year. Due to the absence of inductions in 2023, four inductions were made for 2024.

“Current PCB Hall of Fame members”: Abdul Qadir, AH Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, and Zaheer Abbas.
