Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan

Rally Postponement, Demands for Open Trial, and Call for Nationwide Protests,Imran Khan

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Message from Adiyala Jail

Yesterday, due to the sensitive issue of Khatm-e-Nubuwwat and the likelihood of religious groups protesting in Islamabad, there was a risk of clashes. For this reason, we decided to postpone our rally in Islamabad. If we had held the rally, there was a fear of a repeat of the May 9 events, especially since a judicial inquiry into that day’s incidents has yet to be conducted.

The entire party, especially the workers, is upset and angry about the postponed rally. I, too, believe the rally should have taken place, but considering the sensitivity of the matter, we postponed it only to avoid unrest. PTI is the only party in the country that is not being granted permission to hold a rally in Islamabad. I have postponed the Islamabad rally for the last time. On September 8, we will not tolerate any obstacles. Regardless of the situation, we will hold rallies in every district.

Nawaz Sharif’s backpack is ready for London, he only needs to gather his essentials. I have not communicated with any Form 47 government, nor will I. Whenever they suspect that PTI has had any communication with the establishment, they immediately recall the false flag operation of May 9. All this is happening to secure an extension for Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. Two strategies are at play: if they cannot extend Isa’s term, they will try to influence seniority to bring in their own person. Both scenarios are unacceptable. If they attempt this, we will stage widespread protests across the country.

I am the head of the country’s largest party. I started my party from scratch and have been struggling within the constitution for 28 years. Alhamdulillah, I am so popular among the people that I do not need any crutches! My party won more than 180 seats on February 8. The trial of Faiz Hameed is an internal military matter, and they can handle it according to their laws. However, accusing Faiz Hameed and me of conspiring on May 9 is absurd. Even more ridiculous is that the trial is not being conducted openly.

If Faiz was involved on May 9, there should be an open trial because this is neither an internal military issue nor a secret international matter. The May 9 incident is blamed on us, yet we demand an open trial. My petition on this matter is still pending in the Supreme Court, which Faez Isa has suppressed. If a commission is formed and two things are determined—who ordered my abduction from the Islamabad High Court, and who stole the CCTV footage—the May 9 matter would be resolved immediately.

If the Hamoodur Rahman Commission Report had been implemented, we would not have had three martial laws, nor would we be under an undeclared partial martial law today. Instead, we would have democracy in the country.

After the regime change, our party members were told that Imran Khan and PTI would be erased, which led some individuals to defect and hold press conferences against PTI. I am a believer in “La ilaha illallah.” I firmly believe that honour and disgrace come from Allah, and I still thank Allah for this trial and remain patient because only Allah can end this trial. When you face difficulties, it is a test from Allah.

In the Quran, Allah teaches us to be patient during hard times, and I know that I am in jail by Allah’s will because this was written for me. This unwavering faith means that neither I nor my nation should be afraid. We will continue our struggle for true freedom under all circumstances, and InshaAllah, we will succeed. Now, the entire nation should prepare for the rally on September 8 and make it a success.
