Struggle for True Democracy: Judiciary’s Role and Media Censorship

Democracy has remained nominal in the country. The judiciary is the guarantor of freedom in a democratic state, but it no longer serves this role. Elections alone do not establish true democracy; fair and transparent elections, an independent judiciary, the rule of law, and accountability are essential. Without these, even dictators can pretend to hold elections. Currently, there is complete censorship of the country’s media. I have reviewed the newspapers, and none have printed my statements.

Struggle for True Democracy: Constitutional Amendments and Power Grab

At this time, the government has taken control of the Supreme Court through constitutional amendments—enabling them to carry out injustices without accountability. To undermine Tehreek-e-Insaf, the country’s largest party, Qazi Faiz Isa and the Chief Election Commissioner aided in manipulating the mandate. This unconstitutional parliament, president, and prime minister have amended the constitution solely to strip the people of their rights.

Struggle for True Democracy: Army Chief’s Extension and Legal Debate

The extension of the army chief’s tenure would have been an internal matter if the army chief were neutral. Instead, he is protecting an illegitimate government. To shield this regime, his tenure was extended without parliamentary debate, though this was a critical matter requiring a legal discussion.

Struggle for True Democracy: Preparing for Protest and Sacrifice

To my party, especially the leadership, I urge preparation for a protest movement led by Tehreek-e-Insaf. Any office-bearer who does not participate has no place in the party. To my nation, I say that sacrifices are essential for rights and freedom. We must rise for true independence and a free judiciary, as this government cannot be sustained by force. I have endured unjust imprisonment for sixteen months. If we don’t resist now, democracy will be completely dismantled.

Struggle for True Democracy: Reflections on Past Mistakes and Resolve for Freedom

I acknowledge my mistakes, especially in extending General Bajwa’s tenure and choosing a weak coalition government rather than re-election. However, I remain committed to Pakistan and refuse to flee under any circumstances. Unlike others who have gone abroad, I have not taken wealth from this country.
